Thanks for my show in London

先週無事にThe Haberdasheryでの初個展が終了しました、見に来てくれたお友達やお客さま、普段からカフェに通っているお客さま、そして展示をさせてくれたカフェのスタッフのみなさまに感謝しています。

Last week my first solo exhibition was successfully finished! I really really appreciate to... my friends and visitors, people who often come to The Haberdashery, and also stuffs!!

呆れるほどの犬だらけのこの展示、ワガママな内容だと思いますが、たくさんの方が楽しんでくれたようで初めての個展でヒヤヒヤでしたが私自身も安心して終えることができました。私はまさか、ロンドンに来て「日本シック／ホームシック」ではなく「犬シック」になるとは思いませんでした。来たばかりの頃は毎晩、ナナが夢にでてきて泣きながら目を覚ますということを繰り返し、日が経つにつれて治まってくるものの常に「ナナに会いてえ〜〜」と思ったりつぶやいたり・・・そんなこんながありでも結果的にこれらの作品が生まれました。悪いことではないと思います。

The topic of the show was quite my own feeling by missing my dog friends in Japan, I didn't expect I've missed my dog Nana since I came to London ( I think people normally feel Japan or Home Sick). Three years ago I used to have dreams which I saw Nana and woke up with my tears. I still say 'I wanna see her!' in my recent days but it influenced my illustration work, good effect.


土曜日にはYAOMARTも無事に終わり、次に出展するイベントに向けて新たに進むことができそうです。（この日、オリンピックトーチ見たよ！）ちょっとずつウェブサイトも更新しています、何卒よろしくお願い致します。

Also YAOMART was finished last Saturday, I can get ready for the next new events. (I saw Olympic torch relay!) I'm slightly updating my website too, please get in touch!

wonderful gift

ロンドンの天気って本当によくわからないんですが、最近は雨が降っては止んで時々太陽ピカーって来て、気温がそんなに高くはないのでお外では半袖の上からジャケットかカーディガンというそんな夏・2012です。

We can't expect the weather in London, recently - raining, cloudy, sometimes sunny with low temperature. Almost people wear coats or cardigans - summer in London 2012. The Haberdashery has a garden, I took this photo when sun came out on Wednesday.

水曜日にイラスト仲間のChris Haughtonが展示を見に来てくれました。彼は
A Bit Lost、最近はOh No, GEORGE!（もうすぐ日本でも発売）を出版した有名な絵本作家さんです。会うの４回目くらいかな、確か（結構会ってた）。いつも忙しそうにしているので時間を割いて来てくれたのがすごく嬉しかった。色々な話して、例えば最近のテクノロジーを使ってうんぬんな、真面目は話を楽しくして。そして「私、Chrisのジョージを絶対買って帰国しようと思ってるから今度絶対買う」って宣言したら「おみやげが・・・」と絵本を出して、ジョージ＆メッセージ＆サインしてくれました！
なんとー！なんとぉー・・・！なんと言えばいいのか・・・本っ当にありがとうございます。そして日本版でたら買う！ロンドン来て大分経ちましたが、本当に信じられないくらいいい人たちに巡りあえてます。なんと表現すればいいのかわからないけれど、本当に全員のみなさんにありがとう（まだちょっと早いね）！

On Wednesday my friend Chris Haughton visited to The Haberdashery to see my show. He's a very very talented designer and illustrator who published A Bit Lost and Oh No, GEORGE! We enjoyed to talk about illustration business which was inspiring me. Then I told that I was going to get Oh No, GEORGE! before going back to Japan, then...he show a book of George... put his drawing, message and sign on that! I can't express my feeling but really X100 appreciate to him. Many thanks X100, Chris!

展示の終わりはまだ教えてられていません、次のアーティストさんは大丈夫なのかな。恐らくもうすぐ終わりますが、The Haberdasheryはとても楽しい、素敵なカフェです。写真のケーキもあるし、食べ物もおいしいです。まだ明日あさっては展示引き続き開催されていると思うのでぜひ。

I didn't imagine in Japan I could make a lot of nice friends (art area, other area..anywhere) in London. I would like to say many thanks for everyone (I know it's too earlier!)! Anyway, my show hasn't been announced when it's finished but you have to come to The Haberdashery for having lovely sweets (of course Do Not miss my show)! That's my recommendation :)

こちらはこの間スウェーデンに帰国してしまったイラスト仲間のKarinのブログから。
Karinがロンドンでの忙しい時間を調整して展示に来てくれたときの私の絵日記をピックアップしてくれました。Karinもめちゃくちゃかわいいきれいなイラストを描く素敵なイラストレーターさんで今後はストックホルムを拠点に活動していく、私の立場（来月から東京）と同じでお互いにがんばっていこうねとお茶しながらそんな話をしました。これからもよろしくね、Karin!

This is my illustrator friend Karin's blog, she just went back to her home country Sweden. I illustrated in my doodle diary about she made a time in her busy days in London for visiting to my show. She picked it up and reviewed on her blog. She is a very talented illustrator and she'll be a Stockholm-based illustrator like me (I'll be a Tokyo-based illustrator from next month), we talked our activities in our future with having tea. こちらは白ナナクッキー。ちえちゃんがプライベートビューに持ってくれてくれたアイシングクッキー、この間食べてしまったけどアイシングクッキーは初体験だったのですごく嬉しかった！ちえちゃん今更ながらサンキューでした。どんどんレビュー紹介でもなくなってるけど、いいよね、嬉しいね。

Madness week!

先週はステイ先のAsherの７歳の誕生日があり、Madnessの「Forever Young」というCDをプレゼントしました。MadnessはAsherの大好きなバンド。なんかすごいセンスな小学生だけど、私がこっちきたとき、Asherは２歳（すぐ３歳になったけど）、でThe Damnedが好きでした。

他にカードを置かせて頂いているFamily TreeさんにてSupermarket Sarahのパーティーがあり、土曜にはThe Canine Gamesという犬のイベントがあり遊びに行ってきました。展示会場に行かなかったな。今週日曜までなので今週はちょくちょく行きます。


Last week Asher had his birthday and I presented Madness CD 'Forever Young' for him. Madness is his most favourite band, he has good sense for music. He liked The Damned three years ago when I just came to London.

The week I visited to Family Tree which I sell my cards, it has wall party with Supermarket Sarah on Thursday,
and I played with lots of doggies! at The Canine Games on Saturday.

So I didn't go to The Haberdashery last week, but I'll come down this week as it's finished on Sunday.

final week of June

この週はその前の週よりも目が生きとりません。月曜はフェスのせいなのか全身痛かったり、ずっとトイレ行って（笑）ました。トイレにPCは持ち込んでいないけど・・・メール返信とか送信とかしてて途中で「うおおおトイレ！」の繰り返しでした、つまりずっと腹下してました笑（お食事中の方、すみません！）フェスはどろんこなので行くときは登山靴で行きましょう

最近ある作品を3点アイデア出し提出＆お返事待ちなのですが、久しぶりに犬以外のものなので結構大変でした。
でも新作、出来上がるのが楽しみです。


This week it seems my eyes aren't alive than usual. I felt muscle pain on Monday maybe by walking in Hackney Weekend. I didn't bring my PC in the toilet but I felt something in my intestines so I spent a lot of times there... (if you have something with reading this, sorry!) We must PROPER shoes on when we go to music festival ;)

Recently I have to make three illustrations and wait for reply of the idea from the client. Those aren't about dogs so it was a bit hard to think about the idea for me as I hadn't drawn other motifs for ages. But I'm so excited for completing those!

この写真は火曜日から（お手洗い記事からこちらでリフレッシュしてください）。2010年に参加したアートフェアで出会ったアーティストの王香さんと息子のきあのくん。ずっとFacebookでこの子の写真を見ててまさかお母さんと一緒に来てくれるとは。最初は寝てたけど途中で起きて私の顔見て眉間にしわ寄せて面白い顔してた。実は出会うのは今回で二回目でした、来ていただいてありがとうございました王香さん＆きあのくん、今後ともよろしくおねがいします。

This photo is from Tuesday (hope you could be refreshed from my story of restroom), she is a Japanese artist Ooka Ueno who came to my show with her son Kiano. I've seen his pictures on Facebook but I didn't expect she took him. He was firstly sleeping in a baby car then suddenly work up and gazed me, the face was so funny. We met at our attended art fair in 2010, thank you for coming, Ooka and Kiano!
