2010 is finishing....

 I can't believe 2011 is coming,

but I'll welcome for new year!
This winter in 2010 was so cold, freezing!
Quite strong snow, the air was like ice...
Heathrow was closed around Christmas season,
trains were stopped by snow etc.
So I spent quietly while this holiday.

毎年年末になると思いますが、
一年って本当にあっという間。
「また年とる、もういやだ〜」とか
言っても、人間なのでもう引き返せません。
その代わりに私は新年を楽しく迎え入れます。

There are the photos at Alexandra Park which I took last week.

snow snow snow!
However, in the central of London,
snow has already gone!

Anyway, many children were playing with snow in this park.
It's getting to difficult to walk around here!
I'm lazy to go to the outside.
BUT I prefer winter than summer...

この前アレキサンドラ・パークを撮った写真
都心行くと都心なのでもう雪がないんですが
うちの近所は北で丘で都心じゃないから
ま〜だ雪が・・・いいけど、歩きにくいから
もう来週半ばまで絶対都心とか、行かん！！

でも夏より冬の方がすきなので許します。
冬になると突然小室ファミリーが聴きたくなります。
ついさっきまでglobe！とか、hitomi！とか
安室！とか一人で騒いでました。
祭りです

もう今はいつも通りにBlood Red Shoes聴いてますよ＾＾

2011 New Year's card, and...

 

I finished to make New Year's card for 2011.
Why did I draw a rabbit?
Because, a character of 2011 in Japan is that, it's from Chinese astrology.
So Japanese people have their own animal (but there's only 12 sorts), which give us when we are/were born. ummm it's difficult to explain!
I was born in 1985, the character was cow.

This was printed out.
And I started to open my online shop at Etsy,
now there's only cards though, I'll put more goods soon.

MY SKETCHBOOK PROJECT

  

Finished! to draw.
It includes my memory, and followed to theme '...you'd be home by now.'
which was supplied by Art House Co-op.
That's quite nice for me, I still want to know about my self.

My home isn't only Aobadai (my homw town) in Japan,
and also everywhere which I've been connected, is home to me!
I took there pages so will upload them to Flickr...maybe?




I'm telling about my future plan, and show:

///8th January is my birthday, so
I'm planing to have a tiny stall at Backyard Market in Brick Lane.
( but I have to pay for it first)
As I don't like to be main person at the party or something,
I'd like many people can come and look at my illustration,
that makes me very happy!

///I'm considering to open my shop at Etsy.
There will be put my greeting cards and also artworks.

///I may go back to Japan next April, and stay until July.
In July, I'll come back to London.

///During I'm in Japan, I'm going to have an exhibition in mid-June
with my Japanese friend Yoko Miura (you can check her website
from my 'about' page).
We have a discussion once a month using Skype,
it hopefully goes well!



Finally,  I joined Inbox (12) that is a fanzine of our favourite spot by each illustrators.
My chosen spot is Tokyo, and I illustrated Harajuku area.
I'm looking forward to receive completed the zine.






スケッチブックの・・・プロジェクト
一冊描ききりました。
ほぼ私の人生丸出しになってます。
でもこういう故郷をテーマに描くというのも
自分が知れて楽しいですね。

すごく恥ずかしいかもしんないけど

横浜の青葉台（駅からは離れてるけど）が
実家なんですがそれも含めて自分が 'home'と感じる
ものはなんでも詰め込みました。
写真撮ったりしたので今度Flickrに載せますたぶん



そして今後の予定なんですが：


１：来月1月8日は私の誕生日でございます。

（こちらの方は誕生日迎える方が、パーティを開くんですよね。
レストランを貸し切ったり、なんか色々）
 パーティとか飲み会がもともと苦手なのと、
自分という人間がメインになるのって嫌いなんですね、
なのでだったらマーケットで展示しちゃえ！
ブリックレーンのありゃ、私の誕生日かぶってる！
どーんと展示しようぜふー！という個人的なノリで

私自身より作品を見てもらえる方が私は幸せなので

Brick LaneのBackyard Marketにての一日展示を
企画中。進行中なんだけど先に場所代払うんだ。



２：ちょっとオンラインショップ開くかもです。
Etsyで　でもまだわかんない

３：来年一時帰国しま　４月くらいから７月頭。
７月にまたロンドン戻りたいです。
（三ヶ月長いな・・・もっと短くしようかな。未定過ぎる）


４：日本いる間、６月中旬東京で展示予定。
お友達の三浦瑶子ちゃんと二人で、今、月一でスカイプで
計画中。彼女のサイトへは私のサイトのaboutってところから
飛べます。


最後に、この前 Inbox (12) という冊子・・・日本語では
なんていうんでしょう、Fanzine/ Zineというの
訳みるとと同人誌だけど、同人誌でいいのかな？
ジーンです！ジーンに参加させて頂きました。
各作家の好きな場所ということで
最初はロンドンで依頼されたんですが、
東京にしてくれました。
もうそうしたら原宿しかでてこなくて
原宿は今はもうかなり変わってしまったけど
私が小学生の頃とかかなりのおしゃれ街に見えましたね。
そんな気持ちを込めて作品を提出しました。
出来上がるの楽しみっす。

I'm keeping to draw Sketchbook Project though,
it's getting to hard for filling all of pages!
However I'll finish it soon...

The book is separated by my memories.
This page is about Coo-tan which is my first dog.

It won't be back to me, but, I'll keep a whole of pages
then put them on my website and Flickr.
I'll devote it to my family, hometown, people in my town, friends,
and my life.





地道にスケッチブックプロジェクトをすすめていますが

中身なんですが、基本的に思い出や記憶が綴られてます。
このスケッチブックは作家のところへ帰って来ないので

上記のテーマなので、私の家族や私の住んでいる町、
今まで会った人々や友達、これからも死ぬまで付き合うことになる

About my cards, and Happy Hanukkah!

 

Yesterday, I visited to Family Tree at Exmouth Market.
So three types of my greeting cards are being selling there.
Thanks very much for that, Takako-san.

The reason why I made Season's Greetings because my host family is Jewish, they told me they use it around this season.
And Hanukkah has already started, they're excited and I feel smell of potato pan cakes Latkes!

Their daughter Anna was inspired by my greeting cards,
so she was trying to make her own card.
Exciting.

Season's Greetingを作った理由の一つで私のホストファミリーがユダヤ教の方々なのでクリスマスではないので、他の宗教の人達にも使えるようにそのようなカードがあるよと教えてくれました。
彼ら達はこの時期は、ハヌカという行事があり今年は12月2日から、8日間。今も、ラトケスという芋のパンケーキの匂いが・・・良いにおい。

娘のAnnaが、私もカード作りたい！と作ってたのが上の写真。
一生懸命描いてました、めっちゃかわいい

I made three types of greeting cards last week
which were 'Greeting Card (the photo above)', 'Christmas',
and 'Season's Greeting'.
I'm going to make 'New Year's card' as well.
I feel it's important to keep that things...as Japanese.
So I considered the cards should be separated.

you can arrange to put words or images on there bubbles,
which Poodle (model by Nana) say something but blank.



ついさっきですが、

Sketchbook Project, and Halloween...

 

As I said in Twitter, I'm doing 'Sketchbook Project' now.
This book will go around in the USA, like a tour!
The visitors can see each sketch books at each exhibited place.

It hasn't finished yet! I have to send it until mid-January.
This participants must choose one topic, I chose 'you'd be home by now'.
So I imagine I'm in my home... in this sketch book.

By the way, Halloween already passed. Few photos still in my camera.
I found these lovely sweets at M&S.

They were made by my host mother Susu, really creative!
The daughter Anna wore cat witch, and boy Asher was a vampire :)
Children really enjoyed (just one day in every year) Halloween!






遅くなっちゃいましたがハッピーハロウィン・・・遅
うちでは子供で賑わってました。吸血鬼がいたりゾンビも来たんですが
たった一晩でしたが子供達が本気出すと楽しいです

んで一方で、Sketchbook Projectというのをやってます。
アメリカをぐるーとツアーされる企画で各会場でお客さんは各アーティストさんの
スケッチブックの中身を拝見できます。
テーマを選ばなくてはならなくて私は 'you'd be home by now' というので
スケッチブックの中で「私の家」という環境を描いていきます。
全部描いたら一ページずつサイトに載せます。

I went to Frieze Art Fair with my friend yesterday...
was hard to see all, we were getting tired
however, really really fun!

Today the art&design fair in Islington was finished...
I just came back to my home, and really enjoyed!

I met lots of nice people who gave feedback to me.
Perfect exhibitors, I'm glad to meet you, hope to keep in touch.
Thanks very much for visiting, I'm really really happy.
and also my friends, thanks a lot!

I got an email from BUST magazine about Craftacular, so I applied that.
I would show my new work and goods there if I'm hopefully confirmed for attending that...

Last Thursday... I went to gig by Blood Red Shoes.
It's very very my favourite band, and was at Electric Ballroom.
(I've heard it's famous as Punk venue)

今日（10日）参加したアートフェアが修了しました
すごく楽しかったです、色んな人に出会えて色んな感想を頂いて・・・
参加していた素敵なアーティストの方々にも出会えて最高です。
来てくれた友達にも感謝してます。本当にありがとう！
もし来月末のBUSTのクラフトフェア参加できたら
また新作や新しいグッズを披露したいです。近いうちにまた

そんなところでまたBlood Red Shoesのライブに行って来ました・・・
本当に好きで好きなんです。場所がElectric Ballroomという名の
Camden Townにあるんですが結構昔からあってパンクの時代には
よく有名なバンドがプレイをしたことで、なのでここでギグをするということはすごいらしいです。
そんな今回の彼らのショウもとても素晴らしかったです。
んもうすんごいいいいいいい

SANPO bag and telling a fair this week

 

This is my new bag which theme is walking with my three dogs on sunny day.
Art & Design fair is going be from Thursday, so I'm preparing about that ( I won't sell this bag though). On Thursday, it's Private View, I'll be there but I'm leaving around 20.00 (instead of that, my friend Maiko is there) because... there's a gig by Blood Red Shoes at Camden town... I can't wait...! I know both of them are very important for me! urrrrr

BUT I'll be exactly there during this fair. You can come to see me anytime.

うちの歴代犬との散歩バッグです。ナナとナナとくーたん
実は今週の木曜から出店するアートフェアが始まります、なので色々と準備してます。のでこの写真のバッグは特に意味ありません

んで木曜日はプライベート・ビュー（日本で言うオープニングパーティのような）で、もちろん私も会場にいます。
しかし木曜日は夜20時くらいに消えます（友達のまいこちゃんに任せて）・・・Blood Red Shoesのライブに行ってきます。フェアもこちらも手放せない・・・！なので彼ら二人が演奏を始める時間ギリギリに行くことにした（半分半分）。

でも、フェアの間はずっと会場にいますのでよろしくです。

busy week for Design Festival in London.

 

Last week, in London, I went to walk around to see Design Festival.
TENT, Antidesign, Kemistry gallery, Beyond The Valley...
Space In Between, 100% Design, Taschen....

I still want to visit two place which are 'Few and Far' and V&A!
maybe go to both of them before Blonde Redhead's show on Wednesday.

Then I went to have a dinner at Carluccio's with my friends!
spent quite happy time...

先週からロンドンではデザインフェスティバルが開催されていました。
（まだやっているところもちょっとあるっぽい。
東京でも、もうすぐ行われますよね。行ったことないけど・・・）
色んなところ回ってみたんですが、微妙に行けてないのが二件。
水曜に実はBlonde Redheadのライブがあって行くんですが（ひひひ）
その前にちょっと足運んでみます。
TENTとかは来月のフェアの参考になったりしました、

I visited to Portbelo market last week, was the first time.
Although I wasn't interested in that much, I was finally attracted.

Another day, I took my friend's friend from Japan to this shop
called The Last Tuesday Society.
We can see horror and surrealistic items there,
and it was introduced in Japanese magazine 装苑 So-en recently.

Fun.

Hello Again

 

I came back to my former home stay's house last Sunday.
5 years son Asher wrote 'Welcome back Nanae' on paper and attached it at the door!
I'm really happy to stay there again....

Before that, some my friends and I went to Brick Lane.
One of them introduced a Japanese artist HASE to me.
She's now living and selling her works, and have a stall at Backyard's market every Sunday.

The period to live in London is same as me, till next March.
We hope we could have something together in here.

以前居たホームステイ先にまた住むことになりました。
５歳の息子Asherがなんと上記のを書いてくれた・・・！
まさかこんな迎え入れてくれるなんて、幸せだー
そんなこんなでとりあえず３月までここで暮らします。

そしてこの日、ある日本人絵描きさんを紹介してくれると
Brick LaneにあるBackyard's Marketへ
HASEさんという方に会ってきました。
久しぶりにちょいとシュールでかわいらしい絵を堪能して
お友達になりました。
私と同じく３月までロンドンということで
それまでに何か出来るといいねということで。
HASEさん、また会いましょう。

We would have something in our mind when we make something, I think...

I'm now staying at small flat which is for Japanese people,
and also working for illustration work.
I can tell you soon if the work will go well.
Here's uncomfortable for me to work, however, the people are very nice.
I may meet a Japanese artist soon because one woman is connect with her.
It's hard to do something until I move to next house though,
I got good opportunities by living this flat. Perfect.


只今日本人向けの小さいなフラットに借り住まいしています、日曜まで。
んでここのリビングで一応仕事してるんですが、すごくしにくいです。
その仕事なんですが、
もし、上手くいったらもうすぐ発表できると思います。
ここのフラットに住んでいる方で、ロンドンで活動しているアーティストを紹介してくださる方がいます。
なんか短期で日本人だけなのに色々と楽しかったり、
不思議な出会いがあって
なんとも不思議な期間です、とても良いですね。

I went to Avi Buffalo's show last month, was very excited, and told them 'Please come to have a performance in Japan, especially Tokyo!'.
I don't have any special news recently (just left from residence for students) but maybe have soon.
Today is Sunday, I'll go to walk around Primrose Hill later.

先月カルフォルニア出身Avi Buffaloのライブ行ってきました。
「日本（東京）にも来てね」と言ってみました。
特にニュースはないんですがもしかしたらもうすぐあるかもよくわからないです。
とりあえず、寮を出ました。
今日は日曜なので近場のPrimrose Hillというところへ後で散歩に行くかも。

I'm packing everything...

 

This is George again, he was introduced in this blog before.
So I visited to my friend's home-stay house as they moved to new house.
I've been packing as I have to leave from residence hall.
I'm going back to my former home-stay from next month, but, before that I'm living at flat for a while.

I went to Brighton last week, it was really great!
We ate Fish and chips at lunch, however... the bone stuck to my throat.
so went to hospital there, then a doctor took it.. it was horrible!
I appreciate and apologize to my friends as we spent around three hours in the hospital.
The sea was very beautiful, we walked to Brighton Pier and I found a board which is the part of that face is cut out. It reminds me of appearing on a music clip by Blood Red Shoes.

I want to go again.


最近は寮をでるため、引っ越し作業したりしてます。
次の移動先は去年住んでいたホームステイ先ですが、その前に短期間だけ小さいなフラットに住むことになってます。なので大変です。

んで、先週ブライトンに行ってきました。
とてもいい場所だったのでまた行くと思います。
発祥地として有名のフィッシュ＆チップスを食べたのですがそのたらの骨が喉にささってしまったので現地で病院行きました。パン飲んでも芋飲んでも刺さったまんまで、鏡で見たら太いのが普通にぐさっと刺さっていました。
結局とってもらえたのですが、友達がずっと一緒にいてくれてもう・・・本当に申し訳ないのと感謝をしています。
そのあと海沿いを歩いてブライトンピアという遊ぶところ行ってBlood Red Shoesのビデオに出てくるやつだ、を見つけて疲れて帰りました。

先週の話でしたが久しぶりに遠出したのでよかったです。

Into August with summer holiday

 

The first week of this month I was quite lazy to do something.
I started to consider next subject from last weekend.
The image is about Hair style of emotion which expresses 'to be confused' by braided hair.

I put next exhibition on NEWS that is The Islington Contemporary Art & Design Fair.
I'll exhibit my project for MA course and some new works.
It's in October, and free admission.


やっと先週末から動きだしました。

NEDERLANDS

 

Hi, last few days of July, my parents and I visited to Netherlands.
Miao Ling, who is a old friend of my mother, we got together.
Of course we went to Dick Bruna Huis in Utrecht, great.
Actually, I hardly go to travel so could have a fun.

Rembrandt Huis, Anne Frank Huis,
The Centraal Museum with Dick Bruna Huis, and The Kasteel De Haar,
National Museum, Van Gogh Museum...

However I wanted to see works from De Stiji, that was sad.
Hope I can go again.


先月ちょっと親とオランダに行きました。
ミオリンのおばちゃんというお母さんのかっこいい友達さんにも会い、
レンブラントの家、アンネの家、
ディック・ブルーナを含むセントラールミュージアム、
デ・ハール城、
国立美術館とゴッホの美術館
めったに旅をしないので楽しかったです。
オランダ語だとNetherじゃなくてNederみたいです

でも大好きなデ・ステールの作品もみてみたかったな
また、いつか行けるよ

PAIN de CONA

 

I upped my final project to my website.

As my parents came to London, they gave me a lot of presents.
There's a bakery 'PAIN de CONA' which is near from my house in Japan.
In the photo, a leaf pie and rusks are from there.
And the owner's wife, Hitomi-san presented me a book that is for cooking.
It was from a great magazine 'Arne', because the bakery is connected with a Japanese illustrator
Mrs Ayumi Ohashi.
I'm glad for getting them, very happy.

日本の実家の近くにはPAIN de CONA (パン・ド・コナ）という
素敵なパン屋さんがあります。
親が今イギリスに来ていてパンやお菓子を持ってきてくれました。
ご主人の奥様、ひとみさんからはArneの別冊本が・・・！
うれしいです、うれしくてたまらないです。
お手紙付きで、ありがとうございました。
日本に帰ったらがっつりもっと頂きたいです。
